Every
person applying for the registration of a trademark, should approach the
chief of the industrial property office, carrying the following:
- An
application written in stamped legal paper, on his behalf or as
legal representative with a power of attorney, stating the factory,
industry or business address of the trademark to be registered.
- Six
samples of the original tag or label, which the interested party
uses as a trademark, or six facsimiles of the same.

A
model with sizes not greater than ten centimeters in width, and
twenty-four millimeters in height.
- A
description, in duplicate, of the trademark, in Spanish language,
indicating the products or goods to which it applies, as well as the
number of the category according to the nomenclature provided in
article 37.

The
corresponding authorization in case there are portraits or proper
names of people involved.
- In
the case of collective labels, a certificate confirming the legal
capacity of the society or union should be enclosed.
